Renovation prices in Belgium are hard to estimate without quotes that take weeks. DomiReno tries to fill that gap with a calculation model that is honest about what it can and cannot do — without pretending to be a contractor, architect or certification body.
Anyone who wants to renovate in Belgium today has two extremes for estimating a budget: an online calculator of thirty seconds that throws out a number without context, or the quoting process of six weeks with three contractors who each measure in their own way. The first is too light to build decisions on, the second is too heavy to just explore. The space in between — five minutes of input, guided step by step, with a figure you can trace back — was empty for non-professionals until recently.
DomiReno fills that space with a wizard that walks you through category by category, based on Belgian cost sources, current premium data per region and a regional factor derived from your postcode. No sales pitch per step — every question we ask lands somewhere concrete in the total, and every default corresponds to a source you can look up.
DomiReno is independent: not a contractor, not a broker, not a comparison platform that lives off sales commissions. The budget planner earns its money from your Pro purchases, not from referrals to third parties — which means we have no interest in higher numbers or in a specific choice in your plan. That makes an honest figure possible.

Every unit price, every default and every premium amount comes from a Belgian source that we name on the result screen and on our methodology page. Not "trust us", but "here is where it comes from".

Answers in the FAQA calculation at our stage is a bandwidth of ±15–25 % around the base figure, not a point estimate. We say that on the result screen, here, and on every page where the amount appears.
An honest tool names its limits. Four things DomiReno deliberately does not try to be:
For a binding energy-performance certificate you work with an expert accredited by VEKA (Flanders), Bruxelles Environnement (Brussels) or SPW (Wallonia). For an official asbestos inventory you work with an OVAM-accredited asbestos expert. DomiReno estimates the impact of these documents on your renovation budget — issuing a certificate is not something we do.
We deliver a budget, not a quote. DomiReno does not connect you to contractors and takes no commission on your choice for a specific installer. Who eventually does the work is your decision — our job is to get you to that conversation prepared.
The calculation model is tuned for the renovation of existing homes. Demolish-and-rebuild or full new construction are not in scope for now — the cost structure, the premiums and the energy-performance rules diverge so strongly there that a half-supported variant would cause more confusion than value.
Our prices are periodically re-verified against the sources, but we do not automatically adjust them against the ABEX construction cost index between two verifications. Better an honest bandwidth than a polished claim that falls apart under critical reading.
